FUME EXTRACTION

The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002 require employers to control the risks to their employees from exposure to hazardous substances. In the case of a motorcycle workshop, the most common hazardous substances are fuel vapours, solvents and oil. To meet the requirements of COSHH, employers should take steps to reduce exposure to these hazardous substances by providing adequate ventilation, local exhaust ventilation (LEV) such as fume extraction, as a minimum.
